say a Roo

Sup ya'll!
As I promised, I updated this exactly on the last day of May, lol.
Tbh tho, my memories abt Aussie isn't as clear since half a year has passed. Nevertheless, I'll do my best to make out a great post!
(I suggest ya'll to view this post from pc for better view of the pics, but still phone will do just fine! )

Anyhow, it's a trip I took with my parents and siblings last Nov and it goes like :
Melbourne ⟶ Sydney ⟶ Goldcoast

MELBOURNE

My dad used to study here, and came back here w my mom ( among other cities) for their honeymoon trip. However, it's my first and my impression was really good. People are friendly, FOODs are awesome, and there are just lots of interesting places to visit.
We rent a white outlander in advance, lemme tell you though parking costs a fortune so if you travel alone or in pair, it's a better idea to use public transportation.

Went to Pho Hung to grab some (notreally) Vietnamese goodness, and ofc you should get the Pho!

So Preston is the name of a suburban in North Melbourne, it was also where we stayed during the short visit, ehehe. A nice area I'd say.

Pizza, Pasta, Italian, LoVE

We spent the day with Angga that day, and decided to have dinner here. If you're looking for Italian food, Lygon Street is the place.

I freaking luv cherries..! or any berries to be exact, hoho
I should have bought their cd, now that I think of it, lyk they're real good.

they are the zweetest

They let you eat unlimited chocolates for free !! a choc lover's heaven

Yarra Valley was really nice, since it's some distance from the buzzing city. The sky was clearer and more blue *or is it just me lol, the air was definitely fresher tho, and the feel was just refreshing! We were kinda late back then so we didn't go to vineyards :( but we did go to Charlie's chocolate factory! or sth like that, except there ain't chocolate rivers, or edible trees. Still awesome!

Had various tummy-satisfying yum chas at Sharkfin House

above : horse drawn carriage, so adorable!  / below : Flinders St. Station

So we took a roadtrip from Melb to Sydney, it was exhausting but really fun! On the way, we stopped by Aussie's capital, Canberra. It's underpopulated imo, so it's super quiet even in daytime.

above : Parliament House, / below : A Vietnamese restaurant where we had our dinner, thumbs up for both service and taste ๐Ÿ‘

SYDNEY

Definitely livelier than Melbourne, also warmer. I have to say I like the weather! You can see more people here too since it's popular among international students, esp Indonesian. Well, both Sydney and Melbourne definitely has their own charms. And though people will defend their own hometown (I encounter this a lot lol), lemme just say I love both. ;)

Queen Victoria Building.

ZONUT from Zumbo! I got it a bit late so it wasn't as flaky and crispy, flavor wise it's perfectly sweet and sour!
right : beef pad thai from Assamm
Look who we met in Sydney! // the Christmas tree was sooo tall, and it's covered in Swarovski crystal, no joke!

The Mandoo : kimchi cold noodle  x pork mandoo
You know, I swore I thought the pic above was taken in Melbourne, and that it was La Trobe St. (don't even ask me why lol). Then I realized it was the same outfit I wore to the Opera House, which is obv in Sydney. mindblown.
Well anyways, Strathfield is like Sydney's Korea town, from the residents, restaurants to grocery shops, felt like Korea!

The iconic structure, need I say more?

I saw a band rehearsing although idk who lol (ps we weren't sup to b there, but oh well we're tourist anyways cx)

Bondi Beach
Bondi got this awesome skate park and it was so much fun watching them play. The beach itself was pretty ofc, but we didn't plan on getting wet so all we do was living the moment

Then, we head to Manly, beach to beach!

took it before dinner, do excuse the quality... AND Fred's neck lol

this right here is DA BOOOMB (ps. he wanted me to take this photo lol)

Watsons Bay
We had fish and chips at a restaurant nearest to entrance and it was yumssss. I posted a pic of it on my insta here! in case you need some foodporn cx

From Sydney, we took another tiring roadtrip. Destination:

GOLDCOAST

It's literally summer all year long but isn't scorching hot like my lovely country, just perfectly warm. It's a paradise for people who loves beach and sea, take me for example
It's also a famous tourist destination from around the country and the globe. They got all kinds of attraction from amusement parks to sea world, and even places for nature lover. We didn't go to any though, we chose to just explore the city, ehhe.

The view from the place we stayed at ehehe

hello form koalame!
yes it's churrooooss !! from Spanish Donuts
We basically spent lots of our time here  (The guy who took the bottom left pic was hilarious as you can clearly see lol)
Twirl is so flaky and gooood , my dad recommended it hho
A sweet shop's owner once told me that most of UK's chocolates are better *whispers*cus they use cocoa butter instead of coconut oil! And while we're at it, I bought Wispa (chocolate bar) back to Medan, mind you it was the last one! He told me it's the best chocolate he's got in the shop and guess what?
my grandma ate it. bye world.
my fuel for survival , look at the colorful fruits though!

Till next time aussie!

Tbh, I was procrastinating all the while, so it was a bit of a struggle to get this done. I am not complaining though, because I enjoyed doing this, hehe.
Hope ya'll had a great time reading!

Oh and I actually took lots of vids while I was there, so hopefully I can bring it together and make a vlog in the next post. (p.s. I will update monthly from now on!  )

Stay tuned!! xx
